About Us
Tropical Valley Foods is a producer-distributor of organic and natural food products, supplying health food stores throughout the US. We take pride in our reputation of integrity and relentless efforts to uphold the best possible quality of products that the market can provide. Most of our products fall into the following categories :
- Organic Dried Tropical Fruits
- Organic Dried Berries and Cherries
- Organic and All-Natural Jerkies
- Organic Dark Chocolate Coated Dried Fruits and Nuts
- Organic Nuts and Trail Mixes
Since not all products can be obtained with an organic certificate, we sometimes need to supplement our line with products that are “ALL NATURAL”. This typically means that during the growing process of the plants and fruits, the handling, the drying and the packaging, no chemicals and only non-GMO ingredients were used.
To ascertain that our dried fruits are always 100 % healthy and safe for human consumption, we submit our products to rigorous tests. Such tests provide secure results in the form of certificates, indicating that our products contain no :
- Chemical residues
- Micro-biological pathogens
- GMO ingredients
At Tropical Valley Foods we believe in healthy food, environmentally sustainable growing methods and equitable relationships with the growers. We make many efforts to be an active part of the global movement to improve our environment and provide a better world for future generations. We believe in this future.
History
Tropical Valley Foods was founded in 2001 by Eric Bertheau. At first, we started with a small production unit in Haiti where we produced organic dried mango only. Then came the dried bananas and gradually the company grew to produce a variety of tropical organic dried fruits.
To distribute the products, a sister company was founded in 2004, going by the same name of Tropical Valley Foods. Although we still produce in the Caribbean, additional organic dried fruits are imported from South-American countries. The company strives to standardize protocols among all these facilities to create uniform quality, organic certification, HACCP standards (food safety) and an ethics code aimed at maintaining equitable relationships with the growers and planters from whom the fresh fruits are purchased.
In addition to our organic dried fruits, we also distribute a selection of organic, US-made jerkies.
Tropical Valley Foods Distribution brings the organics to two different levels of the market : a network of individual health food stores, located throughout the US, which we supply from our office and warehouse in Plattsburgh, upstate New York and also to the level of packers that fill their branded bags with our products as ingredients.
The year 2009 saw the creation of Next Organics, a line of Organic Dark Chocolate coated Dried Fruits, Nuts and Ginger that has so far been turned into a phenomenal success story.
Today, Tropical Valley Foods and its brands are widely known in the US health food industry for excellent quality and reliable service. We only source products of outstanding quality from processors with whom we work in close collaboration. Customer Satisfaction is a must and we will go many extra miles to guarantee it.
For the coming years, we fully anticipate to maintain our tremendous growth rate and to continue to play an ever-increasing role as a provider of “the best there is” in organics.
